Golden Hummer

(Macho Macho Man x J. T. Davis) x (Belle Cook) Sev. 7 - 8" fl. 25" sc. M 20 buds. Fertile both ways. GOLDEN HUMMER has been a favorite of mine since its maiden bloom for several reasons. First, it blooms early in the season, bringing bright color to late spring. Second, the color is a saturated gold with blushes of tangerine and pink. The intense color, combined with the fact that the blooms are huge, make it impossible to pass by these flowers without going WOW! The petals are surrounded by a ruffled gold edge and the blooms have a dark green throat at their center. One of the advantages of living in North Florida is that we get a lot of freezes, which allows us to grow and breed for dormants and semi-evergreens that will flourish in any climate. GOLDEN HUMMER, like TED’S TRIBUTE TO LINDA is a true middle of the road semi-evergreen, that performs as a strong, vigorous evergreen to semi-evergreen in warm winters, but goes completely dormant in cold winters. What a treat!
