Amber Silhouette

(Casper's Shadow x Tet. Terry Lyninger). Sev. 5.5" fl. 23" sc. M. 15-20 buds. Average rust resistance. Fertile both ways. Pat Stamile was kind enough to share pollen from Tet. Terry Lyninger, and like myself, brought it into the applique throat patterns. Amber Silhouette was one of my most interesting and intriguing seeldings from such a cross, with an intriguing pattern on a perfectly formed flower, The blooms are a light peach to melon color with a deep green throat. The throat is surrounded by a mother of pearl applique, which moves out onto the midribs. The applique throat is surrounded by a narrow lavender patterned eye. The ruffled petal edges carry a wire gold edge, and the sepals are wide and blunt. The combination of all these features makes Amber Silhouette an unusual and mesmerizing flower in the garden.
