Tavye Celeste, Daylily
*Tavye Celeste

* 'Tavye Celeste' -- (Gary Colby x Meet Joe Black) x (Gavin Petit) Sev. 5.5" fl. 30" sc. M 20 - 25 buds.  I love dark and black flowers in the garden, and have hybridized these flowers more than most.  The base color of these flowers is a dark burgundy purple, with a deep green throat.  The flowers have a large, extremely dark black purple eye.  The color of the eye continues around the petal edges as an even darker, almost pitch black picotee, surrounded by a wire gold edge.  Named for Tavye Celeste Napier, an extraordinary lady, flower lover, and Professor at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
