*SUMMER IN NEW ORLEANS

*SUMMER IN NEW ORLEANS -- (Pursuing Passion x Bittersweet Symphony) (Racing with Destiny x John Peat) Sev. 6.5” fl. 25” sc. M. 20 buds.  Being born and raised just outside of New Orleans, the rich color of these flowers reminded me of the pure, unadulterated heat of a New Orleans summer.  Summer In New Orleans was one of the most admired flowers in my garden last year, and it is not hard to understand why.  Every morning they were open flat and wide when most other flowers were just waking up.  Their large size and “in your face” presence makes them hard to pass by.  All of this combined with a the very hot rose color make them a stand-out.  They also carry a very ruffled edge, surrounded in gold filagree.  To add to the beauty of the flowers is a large lighter watermark, which surrounds a cool green throat.  If you like flowers with bright hot color and strong carrying power, you will love this attention grabbing flower.  Easily fertile both ways.
