When Bill Munson walked through my garden with Steve Moldovan and Richard Taylor to pick out a flower to be named for him, we assumed he would choose a purple flower. Instead, in a sea of blooms, Bill’s discerning eye chose this beauty to carry his name. When I asked him how he chose this flower, he responded, “It has all the bells and whistles.” What more can I add? The flowers are a clear pink with a heavy ruffled gold edge. They also have a heavy substance and texture, with a green throat. The plants are nicely branched, with two laterals plus top branching carrying 25 - 30 blooms. Plants overwinter well in Canada. Named after one of history’s greatest daylily hybridizers and a dear friend. |
